there was a piece of wood
going through my hands
at least it felt like it was
and I’m just scribbling these crosswords
so how must you feel?

there was a handful of cash
put into my hands
and I just smiled in return
today at them all, to end this
to end the transaction

there was a fence bitten through
by the pigs and my brother
got sick from a curse but the moon
shines religiously bright tonight

and the sky is the mirror of the earth
